Biography
Luka Doncic was born on February 28, 1999, in Ljubljana, Slovenia. A basketball prodigy from a young age, he played for a youth team in his native Ljubljana before joining Real Madrid, a legendary club in Spain. He debuted for the first team at the tender age of 16, and hasn't looked back since. He was drafted as the third overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft by the Atlanta Hawks, but was traded on draft night to the Dallas Mavericks in return for Trae Young. In Dallas, he won the 2019 Rookie of the Year, and has followed it up with three All-NBA First Team selections in 2020, 2021, and 2022.
On the international stage, Luka debuted at 17 years old for Slovenia. He helped his country win Eurobasket 2017 and was named to the All Tournament Team, but could not replicate this in 2022, where Slovenia only made it to the quarterfinals.
